Well, so....here it is. After much waiting, and worrying, and worrying while waiting, here it is. The cover for my debut novel THE RAGGEDY MAN is here. I am as exited as all get out about it. I'm hopeful, as well. And scared. And giddy. That too.
Mike Tenebrae, the artist, has done a masterful job of illustrating the idea of this story. On the one side, is the "real" world. Our world. On the other, shown in stark gray tones, is the world of The Raggedy Man. It represents its almost alien view of how it sees our world. It's a corruption, the warped image of a thing seen through a blurry lens. The book is due out this summer. It's a first novel, and by definition, first novels are things to grow on. But what I lack in skill and talent, I hope I make up for with passion and bloody hard work. When it's available, please read it, those of you who are interested. And please let me know what you think, good, bad, or indifferent. I write for myself, but I write with others in mind. I write what I want to read. And I write hoping you'll want to read it too.
So read it. Rate it. Let me know what worked, and what failed. Writing, like any other endeavor, is a work in progress. I don't expect to have gotten it right, right out of the box. But I promise you this: I will do my absolute best to get better, so long as you promise to stick with me.
And here we go.
Best,
Chris Collins
